The Telangana State Police Officers Association on Wednesday (November 12, 2025) condemned comments made by Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and Sricilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao against the Director General of Police (DGP) during a recent television interview.

In a statement, the Association’s president Y. Gopireddy said the remarks were “vulgar, inappropriate and rude” and demanded that the legislator withdraw his comments and issue a public apology. The association maintained that the Telangana Police, under the DGP’s leadership, had been working with “unprecedented vigilance” and that the department continued to give “utmost priority to law and order.”

“The police department functions impartially,” the statement read. It added that in all incidents referred to by Mr. Rao, cases were registered in accordance with the law, and the accused in cases of robbery and murder had been arrested promptly.

The statement concluded with a demand that Mr. Rao retract his remarks against the State DGP and offer an apology to the media in the interest of maintaining respect for the police institution.
