A complaint was received by the Langar Houz police of the Hyderabad commissionerate over the alleged assault of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s (BJYM) Shaikpet Division president, Swastik, by a group of Congress workers on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) — the day of polling for the Jubilee Hills Assembly byelection.

According to the complaint, Swastik was attacked by Congress leader Sainath alias Laddu and four others, allegedly after being warned not to step out of his home on the polling day. He reportedly sustained injuries in the incident.

An official from the Langar Houz police confirmed that a written complaint was received and that an enquiry is yet to be initiated. “We are verifying the details mentioned in the complaint,” a police official said. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has condemned the alleged assault and urged police to take prompt action against those responsible.
