The bus, which was travelling from BHEL in Hyderabad towards Nellore, was completely gutted in the blaze. The incident was reported around 1.30 a.m., according to officials from the Chityala police.

“A fire suddenly broke out in the bus. On receiving the distress call, our team along with fire officials rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control,” a police official said. Meanwhile, the passengers with the help of the driver and conductor escaped the bus.

No injuries were reported in the incident. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
