Congress backed candidates’ sweep DCC Bank polls in Kalaburagi-Yadgir

Elections to the Kalaburagi–Yadgir District Co-operative Central (DCC) Bank witnessed a decisive outcome on Sunday (November 9, 2025), with 13 directors being elected to the board. Of these, four were elected unopposed, while elections were held for the remaining nine posts.

Of the total 13 winners, ten were supported by the Congress, two by the BJP, and one backed by the Janata Dal (Secular). 

In the keenly contested election, nine candidates including: Ajay Basavaraj Patil (Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) – Afzalpur, Ashok Kalyanappa Savaleshwar (PACS – Aland), Gautam V. Patil (PACS – Chincholi), Sunilkumar Vitthal Doddamani (PACS – Chittapur), Basavaraj S. Patil (PACS – Jewargi), Kalyanrao S. Mulge (PACS – Kalaburagi), Shankar B. Chandrashekar (PACS – Sedam), Vitthal V. Yadav (PACS – Shorapur), and Suresh R. Sajjan (D and other Co-operative Societies Constituency), were elected.

The four candidates elected unopposed are Somasekhar Gonaik, from the Town Co-operative Constituency; Gurunath Reddy Parvath Reddy from Shahapur Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS); Sidram Reddy Mallikarjun Reddy from Yadgir PACS; and Basavaraj Sanganagouda Patil from Yadgir TPCS Constituency.
