An Ayyappa devotee, Nagarjuna, who reportedly went for a holy dip in Godavari river at Bestavarigudem village of Kukunur mandal in Eluru district drowned on Friday.
The victim, along with 25 other devotees, went near the river on Friday, and got washed away in waters, said Superintendent of Police K. Pratap Shiva Kishore. The body was retrieved at Gommugudem village on Saturday. The police registered a case and took up investigation, the SP said.
