Kerala government allocates ₹20 crore for pension, benefits of retired Anganwadi staff

A sum of ₹20 crore has been allocated for the distribution of pension and benefits of retirees from Anganwadis in the State.

The assistance was allocated to the Anganwadi Workers and Helpers Welfare Fund Board. The board, which is not financially self-sufficient, distributes various benefits to the retirees with government assistance.

The board receives ₹2.15 crore as monthly welfare fund allocation. However, it requires a sum of ₹4. 26 crore for the distribution of pension alone. In the last four and a half years, the government has allocated a total of ₹76 crore as assistance to the board, said a press statement here on Friday (November 7, 2025).
