The CPI(ML) Liberation, in collaboration with the All India Progressive Women’s Association (AIPWA), has launched a State-wide Women’s Campaign Brigade to mobilise women voters under the slogan “badlo sarkar, badlo Bihar” (change the government, transform Bihar).

The women-centric campaign will be held in 20 constituencies where the CPI(ML) aims to foreground issues affecting women, including gender-based violence, microfinance debt, and the exploitation of scheme workers such as ASHAs and Jeevika workers.

Countering govt. narrative

It aims to puncture the ruling coalition’s narrative on women empowerment, highlighting the Bihar government’s Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana under which a one-time financial aid of ₹10,000 was granted to eligible women. The party has termed it a “fraudulent policy” aimed at misleading the electorate. It has come up with slogans such as “das hazaar nahi, rojgar chahiye” (not ₹10,000, we demand employment).

CPI(ML) Politburo member and AIPWA General Secretary Meena Tiwari, who is leading a team in Tarari constituency, criticised the BJP for fielding leaders like former MP from Lok Sabha Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Mr. Singh faces allegations of sexual harassment.

“While the BJP brings such figures to campaign, our brigade is amplifying the courage and resilience of Bihar’s women,” she said.
