O.J. Janeesh and Binu Chulliyil have assumed charge as the Kerala State president and working president respectively of the Youth Congress.

The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday (October 27, 2025).

KPCC president Sunny Joseph, MLA, who inaugurated the ceremony, exhorted Youth Congress workers to lead a strong resistance against the “anti-people” and “anti-youth” policies of the State government. “The Left Democratic Front (LDF) government has failed in every sector. While Left youth organisations hesitate to question the government’s injustices, the Youth Congress should rise to the occasion,” he said.

He also criticised the government for allegedly using the police to suppress public protests and for alleged backdoor appointments that have “undermined the relevance of the employment exchange.”

Mr. Janeesh said it was the Youth Congress’ political responsibility to end the Left rule in Kerala and bring a Congress-led government to power. He also pledged to adopt steps to complete the ongoing initiatives, including house projects in Wayanad, being undertaken by the Youth Congress on time.

Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanu Chib delivered the keynote address. KPCC working presidents A.P. Anil Kumar and P.C. Vishnunath, MLAs; Shafi Parambil, MP; and United Democratic Front (UDF) convener Adoor Prakash, MP; spoke.
