PEDDAPALLI

A degree student died of snake bite at her house in Roopnarayanpet village of Odela mandal in Peddapalli district on Friday.

The deceased, identified as Gurram Akshita, 19, was a first-year degree student of a Sultanabad-based State-run residential educational institution.

She had come to her native village for Deepavali festival holidays last week.

Akshita was bitten by a venomous snake that strayed into their house on Friday afternoon.

She was immediately rushed to a hospital in Karimnagar, where she was declared brought dead.

The tragic death of Akshita from a poor family left her parents, both farm labourers, heartbroken.
