The Cuddalore district administration has invited applications from agricultural graduates to set up Farmers’ Welfare Service Centres with 30% subsidy in the district.

In a release, Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar said the centres aim at using the knowledge and technical expertise of agriculture, horticulture, and agricultural engineering graduates and diploma holders to assist farmers.

They will provide farmers with quality seeds, fertilizers, pest and disease management advice, and guidance on adopting modern technologies and value addition for farm produce.

In Cuddalore district, two centres will be established at ₹10 lakh each, and another two at an outlay of ₹20 lakh.

A subsidy of 30%, from ₹3 lakh to ₹6 lakh, will be extended to beneficiaries.

Graduates and diploma holders, aged between 20 and 45, are eligible to apply under the scheme.
