A three-year-old boy was killed and another student seriously injured after being run over by a playschool bus at Vazhathope, near Cheruthoni, in Idukki district of Kerala on Wednesday (November 19, 2025). The deceased has been identified as Heisel Ben, a resident of Vazhathope.
According to the police, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. at Vazhathope Giri Jyothi Public School. After a bus dropped students off in front of the school, they walked towards the back of the vehicle to enter the classroom. Soon, another school bus entered the spot which hit the children and ran over them.
Heisel Ben was rushed to Idukki Medical College Hospital, but his life could not be saved. The body has been shifted for a post-mortem examination.
The other student, Inaya Faisal, who sustained serious injuries in the incident, was admitted to the Idukki Medical College Hospital.
