A 19-year-old was arrested by Narsingi police on Tuesday in connection with a series of vehicle theft cases, with 14 stolen motorcycles recovered during the investigation.

The accused was identified as Ellandula Banny alias Venkatesh, a resident of Malyala mandal in Jagtial district.

Police said the accused was involved in the theft of around 15 motor vehicles across Hyderabad and Cyberabad commissionerate limits.

Investigators found that the stolen vehicles were linked to multiple cases registered at Narsingi, Raidurgam, Golconda, Panjagutta and Film Nagar police stations. The accused was involved in three similar offences in the past, police said.

During the probe, police also identified several individuals who had allegedly received or purchased stolen vehicles from the accused. They have been named as Appala Pranay, Abhi, Valpula Jayant, Toparapu Manish, Kondaveni Sunil, Chakkula Mahesh alias Srisailam, Manoj, Chandu, Mutyala Manideep, Dasari Vijay and Arun. Officials said their involvement is being verified as part of the ongoing investigation, and further legal action will follow based on the findings.

Efforts are also underway to trace other persons involved in the disposal and purchase of stolen vehicles and to ascertain the full extent of the network.

Authorities have advised the public not to purchase vehicles without proper verification of ownership documents, registration certificates and insurance records. They also warned that those found purchasing or receiving stolen property will be treated as accused under law.

Police urged citizens to immediately report suspicious vehicle transactions to the nearest police station or emergency services, stating that public cooperation is crucial in preventing automobile thefts.
