A 15-year-old boy died after falling from the seventh floor of a residential apartment complex in Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Saturday (January 31, 2026) night, police said. The incident occurred at Mantri Alpyne Apartments on Dr Vishnuvardhan Road.

According to the police, the boy, a Class 10 student, had consumed alcohol at a pub along with his friends earlier that evening. Investigations revealed that the minor had gone to Legacy Brewing Company, located within the RR Nagar police station limits, with his classmates, where he allegedly consumed alcohol and smoked.

Police said that after returning home, the boy fell from the seventh floor of the apartment building around 9.40 p.m. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot. The police are investigating whether the death was accidental or a case of suicide.

The boy’s father has filed a complaint, alleging negligence. Based on the findings, the police have registered a criminal case against the owners and staff of the pub under the Juvenile Justice Act and the Karnataka Excise Act for allegedly allowing a minor to consume alcohol.

Further investigation is underway.
