Twelve students of the Morarji Desai residential school in Hirekodi village near Chikkodi in Belagavi district of Karnataka were admitted to a hospital due to a suspected case of food poisoning on November 3.
10 girls and a two boys were shifted to the hospital after they complained of nausea, stomach pain and vomiting. They are all recovering, officials said.
Some parents complained to reporters in Chikkodi on November 3 that the school teachers and staff were negligent. “This is the second time in a month that the students of this school have suffered from food poisoning. We will be forced to discontinue the education of our children,” Madiwalappa, one of the parents, told reporters.
