Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district Collector R. Mahesh Kumar announced on Monday that financial assets, including individual savings amounting to ₹82.66 crore, remain unclaimed by depositors for over a decade in various banks across the district.
On Monday, Mr. Mahesh Kumar along with District Lead Bank Manager (Union Bank) Kesava Varma, launched a campaign, Your Money – Your Right, to help customers reclaim their financial assets that have laid unclaimed for over a decade due to various reasons.
According to an official statement, Mr. Mahesh Kumar said; “There are ₹82.66 crore worth unclaimed assets with the banks in the district. These assets, including savings, belong to the accounts of individuals, organisations and government wings. All these unclaimed assents can be withdrawn during the ongoing Your Money – Your Right campaign. At least ₹66.27 crore of the unclaimed amount belongs to individual savings accounts alone. The banks will help customers trace their accounts, and withdraw their unclaimed assets as per the procedure.”
