Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh on Saturday criticised the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders for their remarks on the Jana Sena Party, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and Amaravati, stating that they had no moral right to question the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and the Deputy CM.

In a statement, Mr. Durgesh said that Mr. Pawan Kalyan had consistently stood by the people regardless of whether he held office, unlike the YSRCP leaders who “were driven by power”.

He described Mr. Pawan Kalyan as a leader who keeps his promises, prioritises public welfare over personal gain and is committed to building a prosperous Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted initiatives such as rural infrastructure development through the ‘Palle Panduga’ programme and emphasised Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s commitment to transparent governance, corruption-free administration and accountable politics.

Mr. Durgesh said the YSRCP leaders were unable to accept Mr. Pawan Kalyan’s growing popularity and political success. “Your struggle is for power, our leader’s struggle is for public service,” he said.

Referring to Amaravati, the Minister accused the YSRCP of consistently opposing the capital city and attempting to provoke people through irresponsible statements and visits.

He accused the YSRCP of creating uncertainty with its three-capital proposal and warned that the public would reject any attempts to undermine Amaravati’s development.

He said the fact that the ruling coalition was growing stronger under the leadership of Mr. Naidu and Mr. Pawan Kalyan made the YSRCP leaders nervous. He questioned the opposition party over its unfulfilled promises, including the job calendar, CPS abolition and prohibition and asserted that the coalition government was committed to delivering on its promises and ensuring the State’s long-term development.

He warned the YSRCP against spreading misinformation through social media or press conferences. He said that the YSRCP leaders would be effectively countered with facts.
