A 33-year-old man and his six-year-old daughter were found dead inside their rented house at Ponekkara near Elamakkara here on Friday (January 16, 2026) morning in what the police suspect to be a case of murder-suicide.
Pavishankar Muraleedharan, who hails from Panavally near Cherthala in Alappuzha district, and his daughter Vasuki Pavishankar were found dead by his wife Snasha and her cousin Sabareesan V. on Friday morning.
According to the first information report (FIR) registered by the Elamakkara police, Mr. Pavishankar was found hanging from the ceiling while the child was found dead on a bed.
