A complaint has been filed after the house of Youth Congress activist Pranoop at Eruvatty near Pinarayi here was vandalised in an attack that occurred on Friday morning.

Windows and household appliances were smashed while the family was away attending a festival at a nearby temple.

According to the complaint, stones were hurled at the front of the house, breaking window panes, and a fish tank was also destroyed. No one was injured in the incident.

The Congress has alleged that CPI(M) workers were behind the attack. Local Congress leaders claimed that Pranoop had received threats during the recent local body election campaign.

Pinarayi police reached the spot and launched an investigation. A case has been registered based on Pranoop’s complaint against unidentified persons. Police said CCTV footage from the area would be examined as part of the probe.
