The Nadakkavu police on Sunday (October 26, 2025) arrested a Kannur native who was accused of sexually abusing a minor girl from Chelannur. The suspect, identified as K.V. Mohammed Fariz of Mambaram, was charged under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. He was taken into custody in Bengaluru. According to police sources, the alleged sexual assaults took place on the Kozhikode beach. The youth was also suspected of securing the gold ornaments from the survivor and threatening to release her private photos on social media.
