A 42-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following a verbal altercation during a cricket tournament held at the Kumbadaje panchayat ground. The deceased, Suresh, succumbed to injuries after he was allegedly attacked near a high-mast light at Mappinadka on Sunday night (May 17).
The Badiadka police registered a case against Kiran and Akhilesh in connection with the incident. According to the police, the clash reportedly stemmed from a verbal dispute during a cricket tournament held at the Kumbadaje panchayat ground the previous day.
At around 9.30 p.m. on Sunday, Suresh was standing near the high-mast light at Mappinadka when Kiran allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon, inflicting fatal stab injuries, the police said. Though Suresh was rushed to the hospital, his life could not be saved.
The case was registered based on a complaint lodged by Suresh’s son, Subhash.
