B.S. Yediyurappa, former Chief Minister, is not a bad choice for the post of the Akhila Bharat Veerashaiva Mahasabha, Channasiddharama Panditaradhya Swami of Shreeshail Math said in Belagavi on Friday. The position is vacant since the death of former Minister Shamanur Shivashankarappa, who had held the post for several years.

The seer told reporters that there were several eligible candidates for the post, but Mr. Yediyurappa could be a good choice. He has not only worked for the welfare of the community, but also for the development of the State.

“He is a senior leader who will take everyone along. The Mahasabha has its bylaws, and the election will be done as per the bylaws. We are confident that all the members will take a good decision soon,” he said.
