A 35-year-old homemaker allegedly killed her husband following an altercation over her excessive mobile phone use, at Meduru village in Lothugedda Panchayat, under the Annavaram police station limits in Alluri Sitharama Raju district. The deceased was identified as Korra Raja Rao (42) of Meturu village.

According to Annavaram Sub-Inspector G. Veera Babu, Mr. Raja Rao had reportedly been involved in frequent quarrels with his wife, over her prolonged phone conversations. He used to accuse his wife of too much involvement in phone use and neglecting household chores as well as not caring for their children properly.

On December 8, 2025, after another dispute, the couple went to sleep. Late that night, the woman allegedly attacked her husband with an axe. He was first taken to a local hospital and later shifted to King George Hospital (KGH) in Visakhapatnam, where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning (December 10, 2025). Annavaram police have registered a case. The accused woman is yet to be taken into custody.
