Woman harassed on KSRTC bus in Thiruvananthapuram

A woman passenger was harassed by a person on a moving Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus near Peyad in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday. The footage of the act by the man sitting in the same seat went viral on social media after the woman herself recorded it on her mobile camera. The incident happened on the bus that left for Vellarada from the Thiruvananthapuram depot.

The passenger sitting nearby was trying to touch her body under the cover of the bag he was holding. The woman who recorded the video of this later confronted the man and slapped him on the bus. When the conductor arrived after hearing the noise, the woman said that the fellow passenger had harassed her, and he should be disembarked from the bus, or the bus should be taken to the police station. As per the woman’s request, the conductor stopped the bus and disembarked the man. No formal complaint was registered with the police or KSRTC authorities until the night.
