The wife of a realtor in Anekal, who is the prime accused in the murder of a gym trainer, has levelled allegations against Central Range DIG S. Girish, claiming that he falsely implicated her husband to pressure him into sharing profits and making him a partner in real estate ventures.

The realtor is alleged to have paid ₹25 lakh to eliminate the gym trainer as he was having an affair with his daughter.

Refuting the allegations, Mr. Girish said that the accused is on the run and efforts are on to trace him. “He has cooked up this story to dilute the issue. He will be tracked down soon,” he said.

The woman, identified as Sandhya, released a tearful video appeal addressed to the Karnataka Home Minister, seeking intervention and protection for her family. The video has since gone viral on social media.

According to Sandhya, her husband Prasad Rao, a real estate developer involved in projects in Anekal and Hosur, had been under severe stress for the past month and had withdrawn from family interactions. She alleged that when she questioned him about his distress, Rao allegedly told her that he was being mentally harassed by DIG Girish, who was allegedly pressuring him to make him a partner in his business ventures and share profits from the projects.

Sandhya further claimed that her husband had been missing for about a week.

The police department said all allegations made by the woman are false and without merit. The police said efforts are under way to apprehend the remaining accused and that legal action will be taken against them in accordance with the law.
