A day after the Lok Sabha passed it, the Rajya Sabha on December 17, passed the Sabka Bima Sabki Raksha (Amendment of Insurance Laws) Bill, which allows 100% Foreign Direct Investment in the insurance sector. Earlier, during the debate, the Opposition demanded that the Bill should be sent to a select committee of Parliament given the far-reaching impact it has on the insurance sector.
