Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Vice-Chancellor Allam Srinivasa Rao has called on the youth to stay away from drugs and other harmful addictions.

Along with the students, he participated in an awareness campaign on ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’ organised by National Service Scheme (NSS) units I and V of VSU College, in Nellore on Saturday. As part of the Central government’s nationwide campaign, ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’, the 100-day programme commenced on the college premises

Simultaneously, the National Unity Day was also celebrated, highlighting the importance of a drug-free society, national integration and social responsibility among youth.

Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor said, “The vision of Viksit Bharat could be achieved only through healthy, disciplined and responsible young citizens.”

He stated that drug abuse affects not only the individual’s health but also families and society. He urged students to give priority to education, physical fitness and personality development.
