The voting for the Telangana Urban Local Body (ULB) elections-2026 in 116 Municipalities and seven Municipal Corporations will begin at 7 a.m. on Wednesday (February 11) and end at 5 p.m. Vote counting will be taken up on February 13.
Female voters more than male
A total of 52.1 lakh people are eligible to vote, including 26,67,025 female voters; 25,49,750 male voters and 638 others. They would decide the fate of 10,719 candidates competing in Municipalities and 2,225 in the Corporations.

While the Telangana State Election Commission notified the polls in 2,582 Wards in 116 Municipalities, 12 Ward Members were unanimously elected. And, two Ward Members of 414 Wards in Municipal Corporations were unanimously elected, as per information from the Commission on Tuesday. To ensure transparency, the State Election Commission (SEC) has arranged 6,017 polling stations in municipalities and 2,174 polling stations in municipal corporations. Of these, 8,191 polling stations have been identified for webcasting.

With this, the polls will be held in 2,569 Wards in Municipalities and 412 Wards in Municipal Corporations. The Commission informed that voters can download their voter slips and navigate to their polling station using the Te-poll mobile app on android devices, with the help of their EPIC number. It has established a call centre with toll free number 9240021456.

The 10,719 candidates competing for the Ward Member posts in the Municipalities includes 2,538 candidates from Congress, 2,478 from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and 2,252 from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and 220 from the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). And the 2,225 candidates contesting in the Corporations includes 410 from Congress, 401 from BRS, 382 from BJP and 62 from AIMIM.
