Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) vice-president Sekar Viswanathan received the Crown Jewel of World Tamils Award at the 13th edition of the World Tamils Economic Conference and Global Economic Summit held in Mauritius recently.
According to a press release, the award was presented by Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool in the presence of G. Viswanathan, VIT founder and chancellor; Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Rajmohan; and V.R.S. Sampath, president of the Madras Development Society and the World Tamils Economic Foundation.
Mr. Viswanathan was also the chief patron and special guest of the conference that saw over 200 participants, including heads of State, Ministers, economic experts, and investors, from more than 20 countries.
Discussions focused on international investments, new business connections, artificial intelligence, financial services, higher education, healthcare, start-ups, and global trade, the release said.
