Visakhapatnam police bagged the overall championship award at the Andhra Pradesh State Police Sports and Games Meet—2026, which concluded on Friday (September 4, 2026). About 1,900 policemen from different ranges and units participated in the meet. The EAGLE police secured 40 medals in various events.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta stated that steps would be taken to establish a Police Sports Academy in the State. The DGP congratulated the winners and praised the large participation of women. IGP (Sports) K.V. Mohana Rao and senior police officers participated in the valedictory program of the sports meet.
