Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu, Amalapuram MP G.M. Harish Balayogi, Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath and Rajya Sabha MP Sana Sathish Babu on Saturday (September 20), extended an invitation to Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan for the Vijayawada Utsav, set to begin on September 22.

The invitation was extended to the Vice-President to showcase Vijayawada’s tourism potential, cultural richness, historical legacy and spiritual prominence, according to a press note from the office of the Vijayawada MP.

The Minister, MPs and members of Society for Vibrant Vijayawada met the Vice-President at his residence in New Delhi on Saturday. Mr. Sivanath felicitated Mr. Radhakrishnan with a shawl as a mark of respect.

Mr. Sivanath said the core objective of Utsav, being organised by the society and tourism department, is to promote the city’s cultural identity and local traditions on a national platform, while involving people from all sections of society in the celebrations. In response, Mr. Radhakrishnan assured him that he would attend the event and expressed his support for its success.

A flash mob was held in the city on Saturday in connection with the utsav.

The MP’s office said the organisers are setting up special stalls across multiple sectors including education, healthcare, agriculture, automobiles and real Estate.

There will be a pavilion for the sector of agriculture, aquaculture, horticulture, dairy and animal husbandry. Organisers expect nearly 5 lakh farmers from both the Telugu States to attend. Professors and scientists from six universities will be present to address farmer queries and provide guidance. Exhibits include modern farm machinery, tools, seeds, feed, inputs, food processing units and more.

In the automobile pavilion, 44 stalls would be set up displaying e-bikes, autos, cars, trucks and ready-mix concrete vehicles. Brands such as Hero, Honda, Hyundai, Mahindra, Toyota, MG, and Tata will be part of the expo.

In the real estate pavilion, featuring 73 stalls with 52 companies, expert guidance would be provided on construction and housing-related queries. Prominent housing finance, banking, electrical appliances, and home appliance companies will also participate in the event.
