Vijayawada Hospital performs five robotic-assisted heart surgeries in one month

Manipal Hospitals, Vijayawada, completed five robotic-assisted Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) procedures, a surgery performed to improve blood flow to the heart in patients with blocked arteries, in a month.

According to a press release, robotic heart surgery is a modern alternative to traditional open-heart surgery. Instead of opening the chest by cutting the breastbone, surgeons operate through small keyhole cuts using advanced robotic instruments.
