Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay welcomed the Supreme Court’s partial stay on the Waqf (Amendment) Act and termed the verdict as ‘historic’.

In a post on X, he noted that the apex court delivered the verdict hearing the petition filed by TVK and various other organisations and through the judgement, the apex court has poured nourishment into the very soul of Islamic community and it is big victory for all those who opposed the amendment.

“The verdict has safeguarded the dignity of the Constitution and stayed the provisions which affected justice, equality and religious freedom”, Vijay said and lauded the team of legal experts who argued the case.
