Large-scale irregularities, including over ₹180 crore in pending transport tax collections, thousands of delayed applications, and unauthorised practices within government offices, have been flagged during surprise inspections carried out by the Vigilance and Enforcement Department across the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area.
The inspections were conducted between April 1 and 8, 2026, by a specially constituted CURE Area Task Force comprising multi-disciplinary teams drawn from five regional Vigilance and Enforcement units. Ten dedicated teams were deployed across key public service delivery points, regulatory offices and industrial establishments within the Outer Ring Road limits.
