The Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society (ULCCS) is spreading its wings outside Keralam, with projects with a total financial heft of ₹4,000 crore planned in the first year.

ULCCS has taken up construction projects in airports and industrial areas in Telangana, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, a statement said. The emphasis will be on roads, bridges, airports and pre-engineered buildings that fall within the areas of expertise of the cooperative society.

In the buildings sector, ULCCS has already won private-sector projects worth ₹62.67 crore from outside Keralam, according to the statement. Topping this list is a factory project in Tirunelveli for a national-level company. Work on a factory for a logistics warehousing firm is progressing in Telangana, while a performance arts centre and convention centre will be built in Karnataka for a hospitality major.

Besides these, ULCCS subsidiaries MatterLab and UL Technology Solutions (ULTS) already have projects in seven Indian States and abroad.

This next phase of growth will also see ULCCS expanding as a property developer in the private sector. Modelled on the One Anthem apartment complex built by UL SpaceUs in Kozhikode, the cooperative society is planning residential and commercial buildings as well as hotels, convention centres and supportive projects for the elderly and the differently-abled on its properties across Keralam. Joint venture projects with property owners also are in the pipeline, the statement said.
