Ending the impasse over the much-awaited talks between Ladakh and the Centre, Ladakh Lieutenant-Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Sunday (April 26, 2026) announced the resumption of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)-level talks with the civil society bodies, the Leh Apex Body and the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA), on May 22. The announcement came days ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s two-day visit to Ladakh.

“I am pleased to announce that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India, has taken a decision to convene a meeting of the sub-committee for political dialogue on 22nd May,” said L-G Saxena.
