U.P. Congress chief Ajay Rai hospitalised after fainting, stable

Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai was admitted at Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on Friday (May 1, 2026) evening after he fainted. “State president Ajay Rai fainted at his residence due to low sodium. He has been admitted to the hospital and is under medical care,” the U.P. Congress unit said in a statement.

Mr. Rai on Friday (May 1, 2026) attended the teachers’ and doctors’ conference organised by the party during the day, along with other senior party leaders. During the event, he had complained of pain and discomfort.
