Two youngsters died after falling into a quarry

Two 19-year-old men drowned after falling into a water-filled quarry in Dahisar East on Saturday (July 11, 2026) morning, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials said.

The incident occurred around 10:26 a.m. at Shaikh Khadan in Ketki Pada, an area under the jurisdiction of the National Park in Mumbai’s Borivali area.

According to BMC, the fire brigade personnel rescued the two youths from a depth of around 10 to 15 feet and rushed them to BDBA Shatabdi Hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

The deceased were identified as Piyush Gupta and Om Ankush Singh, both aged 19, as per Shatabdi hospital authority.

Further details are awaited from the local police.
