Kakinada District Education Officer P. Ramesh on Monday (September 7, 2026) suspended two government teachers, Joga Suresh and Reddi Srinivas, for allegedly sexually assaulting girl students, on the findings of a departmental inquiry.

Suresh, a physical science teacher, allegedly sexually assaulted a girl student at a government high school before 2025. “Later, the victim reportedly ended her life. Mr. Suresh has been suspended with effect from September 7 based on the internal inquiry. On the other hand, the police have also registered a case in connection with the victim’s death,” said Mr. Ramesh. The inquiry began on a written complaint lodged by the girl’s parents.

Srinivas, a physical education teacher at a government high school for girls, was named in a complaint lodged recently by a student alleging sexual assault. “Mr. Srinivas has been suspended from the service with effect from September 7 based on the findings of the inquiry,” said Mr. Ramesh.

Those in distress can call the Kakinada district police at 94407-96513, or Tele-MANAS at 14416.
