Two persons were arrested for making country made bombs and other explosives on the terrace of a house at Winterpet in Arakkonam town in Ranipet on Thursday.
Police said the arrested persons were identified as K. Chakaravarthy, 25, and V. Manish Kumar, 21, residents of Arakkonam. They are previous offenders and got befriended in doing petty crimes in the area.
Based on a tip-off, a special police team of Arakkonam Town police conducted a surprise check in a house at Winterpet where they found the two suspects making country made bombs with explosives on the terrace of the house.
Immediately, police rounded them up. Police seized explosives, raw materials and sickles from the duo. A case was registered by Arakkonam Town police. Arrested persons were lodged at Central Prison in Vellore. A probe is underway.
