Fifty-one police officers attended a five-day training programme titled ‘New Criminal Laws, 2023 (Master Trainer Course)‘ organised at the Police Training College, Thycaud, from September 15 to September 19.

The Training of Trainers (ToT) programme was organised by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), Union Home Affairs Ministry. The event was organised in collaboration with Ernst & Young LLP and Police Training College, a statement said.

The aim was to equip senior officials with a comprehensive understanding of the newly enacted criminal laws – Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), 2023.

“The programme covered key procedural and substantive changes introduced under the new legal framework and emphasised interactive learning and case-based discussions to strengthen the application of law in field operations,” the statement said.
