Tirupati police arrest three, recover 24 stolen motorcycles

The Tirupati police on Sunday (October 4, 2026) recovered 24 stolen motorcycles worth ₹25 lakh and arrested three persons involved in the crime.

The Tirupati West police headed by Sub-Divisional Police Officer M. Bhaktavatsalam launched a series of raids following instructions from Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu.

The police arrested Areddula Vinod Kumar (32), Cherlopalli Govindarajulu (34), Govindaswamy Murali (30) on Sunday and 24 vehicles stolen motorcycles from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka were recovered. The three regular offenders had 21, 14, and 17 cases respectively on their heads.

Addressing a media conference here, Additional Superintendents of Police K. Ravi Manoharachary (Law and Order) and A. Srinivasulu (Admin) said that nine of the recovered vehicles had been mapped to cases registered in various police stations, while the details of the remaining fifteen were being gathered and collated.
