Three persons were arrested during a routine vehicle check at a police check post in Thagarakuppam village near Vaniyambadi town in Tirupattur along Tamil Nadu – Andhra Pradesh border for possession of 50 grams of ganja on Friday.
The police said the arrested persons were R. Mahesh, 24, G. Vetri, 23, and N. Jafar, 26. They are residents of Tirupattur.
The police said that as part of surveillance, a police team was patrolling the check post in the village when they intercepted a trio and found them in possession of contraband.
The police said the gang brought ganja from drug peddlers in the area. A case was registered. Arrested persons were lodged at sub-jail in Tirupattur town. A probe is under way.
