Three men were swept away in separate incidents in Hyderabad on Sunday night as heavy rain triggered flooding in low-lying areas and nala overflows.

In the first incident, Rama, 25, and Arjun, 26, lost balance near their house located beside a nala in Mangaru Basti, Habeeb Nagar. “The stretch has a road with a slight slope, and the duo accidentally slipped and fell into the flooded stream. Strong currents washed them away,” said an officer from Habeeb Nagar police.

In another case at Vinoda Nagar in Parsigutta, Dinesh alias Sunny, 26, was parking his motorcycle when a wall collapsed nearby. An officer from the Musheerabad police said that water gushed in from the other side of the wall with full force, flooding the low-lying area. “He was dragged into the nala and has not been traced yet. Rescue teams are continuing search operations, with officials stating that the currents may have carried him towards Nallakunta,” said the officer.

Search operations are on to trace the men.
