KARIMNAGAR
Three persons were killed and two others injured when the car they were travelling rammed into a parked lorry near Tadikal in Shankarapatnam mandal of Karimnagar district on Thursday night.
The accident occurred on the upgraded Karimnagar-Warangal section of the National Highway 563, disrupting vehicular movement on the busy highway for some time.
According to sources, the car, which was heading towards Karimnagar, crashed into the stationary lorry on the outskirts of Tadikal.
Three occupants of the car were reportedly killed on the spot, while two others sustained grievous injuries.
Sources said the deceased were reportedly from the erstwhile composite Nizamabad district. Their identities could not be ascertained immediately. The local police rushed to the spot, shifted the injured to a hospital in Karimnagar for treatment and cleared the traffic. Further investigation is underway.
