Three headload workers killed as godown slab collapses in Kerala’s Kozhikode

Three headload workers were killed when the concrete slab of an old godown collapsed at Valiyangadi in Kozhikode city in Kerala on Monday (February 23, 2026).

The victims were identified as Jabbar, Ashraf and Basheer. Two other headload workers sustained grave injuries in the incident.

Police sources said the accident took place when the workers were taking rest. Though the injured were rushed to a nearby government hospital, three of them reportedly succumbed to injuries.

Fire and Rescue Service officials said the building was earlier used as a passport office.
