Thousands of people participated in the fourth edition of the Mangaluru Dasara Marathon in Mangaluru on Saturday (October 17, 2026).

The marathon was organised by the Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple as part of Mangaluru Dasara celebrations.

Four categories of runs were organised – 21 kilometre, 10 kilometre, 5 kilometre and 3 kilometre. Participants including students, youth and senior citizens took part with enthusiasm.

The run started from the Kudroli temple premises and passed through major illuminated streets of the city including Alike Road, Mannagudda and M.G. Road. People gathered along the route to cheer the runners.

The organisers said the marathon aims to promote fitness and also uphold the spirit of unity professed by reformer Narayana Guru, who built Kudroli Gokarnanatha temple.

The Mangaluru City Police had made elaborate traffic arrangements for the event.
