A terrorist has been killed in an ongoing anti-terror operation in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, the Army said on Wednesday (April 1, 2026).

“During the night of March 31, the cordon was tactically reorganised amidst the intermittent firing underway. Own troops effectively retaliated with calibrated response resulting in one terrorist eliminated,” the Army said.

The Operation is in progress, the Army added.

The Army on Tuesday (March 31) said the joint search operation was launched in a jungle area of Ganderbal after receiving specific intelligence input.

Security forces suspected the presence of two terrorists at the encounter site. Meanwhile, the slain terrorist could not be identified immediately.
