Tensions prevailed in Akiveedu Mandal in West Godavari district on Sunday after miscreants launched a “fake” online campaign claiming that some individuals had called for a ‘Chalo Akiveedu’.

Reacting to the campaign, at least 500 police personnel have been deployed in Pedda Peta and in entire Akiveedu Mandal in the wake of the ongoing conflict over the renovation of the Ram Mandir in Pedda Peta.

Confirming that the campaign was fake, Bhimavaram Deputy Superintendent of Police Raghuveer Vishnu said, “We have learnt that no individual had given a call for Chalo Akiveedu.”

Miscreants tracked

The police have reportedly traced the miscreants who led the fake campaign on Chalo Akiveedu.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker R. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju on Sunday evening announced that donations are being received from donors for the renovation of the Ram Mandir.
