The POCSO Court in Kadapa sentenced a 30-year-old man to ten-year imprisonment and imposed on him a fine of ₹3,000 for raping a 15-year-old girl in August 2019. The convict has been identified as Thammisetti Ramanjaneyulu. The Vempalli police had registered a case based on a complaint filed by the girl’s mother. Principal District Judge C. Yamini, who is in-charge of the POCSO Court, found the accused guilty of the charge under Section 258 (2) of the BNSS and delivered the verdict on Thursday (September 18).
