As the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) workers’ stir entered its second day on Thursday, the State road transport undertaking grappled with a worker attempting to harm himself, even as it sought to fill massive gaps in service by operating all its hire buses and electric buses.

Shankar Goud, a driver from Narasampet, set himself on fire, while protesting a delay in the absorption of workers with the government. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment.
